Det Ch Insp Neil John said: “Inquiries are ongoing and my team are working rapidly to establish the circumstances that led to this man’s tragic death.”

“Our thoughts are with the victim’s family and friends at this incredibly difficult time.”

“There is no doubt that this incident will cause concern in the local community and wider, but we have increased patrols in the area. I would like to reassure the public that our investigation remains a priority.”

Det Ch Insp John appealed for anyone with information to contact police on 101 or make an anonymous report to Crimestoppers.
