On Sunday, June 29, 2025, Deputy Prime Minister DK Shivakumar could have the opportunity to become the head minister of the state in the next two to three months.
These statements from a legislator, which is thought to be close to Mr. Shivakumar, are among the renovated speculation about the change of leadership in Karnataka this year.

The Bizilti reappeared after the last statement of Kn Rajanna, the Minister of Cooperation, pointing to the “revolutionary” political developments in the state after September.
“You all know [Congress’s] Power was before this government came to power. Everyone knows who adds the struggle, sweat, effort and interest to achieve this victory. His [Shivakumar’s] Strategies and programs are now history. ”Mr. Hussain told the journalists in Ramanagara when he asked if Mr. Shivakumar had a chance to be cm.
“I do not believe in speculation. We are fully confident that the high commander is aware of the situation and will make a suitable decision at the right time to give him an opportunity.”
When asked if Mr. Shivakumar, who is also the president of the State Congress, will be cm this year, Hussain said, “Yes, I say. The date when some leaders are implied for revolutionary political developments after September – what they speak will be made in two to three months.” He put more pressure, “I say so. I don’t throw around Bush; I’m talking directly.” When Prime Minister Siddaramaiah’s son and Congress Mlc Yathindra Siddaramaiah rejected cm change only as speculation, Mr. Hussain pointed out that the Congress High Command decided to form a government after the 2023 parliamentary surveys.
“We were all together in Delhi. Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge decided. Everyone knows it. They will take the next decision – we will have to wait and watch.” He said.
Speculation about the change of leadership at the Congress of Power continued for a period of time in connection with a power sharing agreement between Mr. Siddaramaiah and Mr. Shivakumar. Such a speech died after the strong instructions of the Party High Command.
After the Congress won the parliamentary elections in May 2023, there was a harsh competition between Mr. Siddaramaiah and Mr. Shivakumar for the mission of CM.
The Congress managed to convince Mr. Shivakumar to accept his role.
The reports at that time proposed a “rotating cm formula” that Mr. Shivakumar began to take over two and a half years later, but this was never officially confirmed.

Responding to Mr. Rajanna’s comments on “revolutionary” political changes, Mr. Hussain said that allowing a deserving person could not be called a revolution.
“What does the revolution mean? Changes are common in politics. When time comes, the high command will decide who should be given responsibility. A appropriate person who can provide good management in today’s conditions will have the opportunity and will have the opportunity to change. He said.
“If another party is overthrowing this government, it can be called a revolution. But nothing happens – the government has a strong and clear majority.” Hussain responded to Mr. Rajanna’s allegations about multiple power centers in the congress, “There is only one power center – a party high command,” he rejected them. “There is discipline and commitment in the congress and everyone follows it. People from different communities worked for the party and sacrificed and fought for it. In today’s case, there is expectation of change and this will change – but cannot be called the revolution.”
