BRS Won’t Return To Power: Ponguleti

What are you doing? Revenue minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy on Saturday said BRS will not return to power in the next elections.

Addressing Praja Darbar at Bodulabanda in Nelakondapalli mandal of Khammam district, the minister alleged that BRS leaders were resorting to fake propaganda against the Congress government due to growing public support.

He accused the previous BRS government of neglecting the welfare of the poor and alleged irregularities in the Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Scheme. “Now we all know the status of Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Scheme,” he said.

Claiming that support in local polls was an indicator of public sentiment, he said the Congress would remain in power in the next elections.

Highlighting the welfare measures, the minister said the government has implemented schemes including 200 units of free electricity, supply of quality rice to ration card holders, issuance of new ration cards and free bus travel to women in TGSRTC services. He said that 4.5 lakh Indiramma houses were approved in the first phase.

He said that the second phase of the housing will start at the end of May and the houses will be gradually allocated to all beneficiaries, regardless of political views.

The minister said applications under the Sada Bainama scheme will be processed and attempts to encroach on government land using such documents will not be allowed.

District collector TS Divakara said petitions received at Praja Darbar will be handled as per government guidelines.
