India initiates anti-dumping probe into import of multi-layer paperboard from Indonesia

New Delhi, July 3 (PTI) Ministry of Commerce ARM DGTR, after the complaint of domestic players after Indonesia against a multi-layered cardboard imports against an anti-Damping investigation launched.
The Indian Article Producer Association submitted the application on behalf of the domestic industry (DGTR) to initiate an Anti-Damping investigation into the “Virgin Multi-Layer Cardboard” imports from Indonesia or Indonesia.
The applicant claimed that the sector was affected by the imported imports.
Product, pharmaceuticals, FMCG products, food and beverages, electronic, senior cosmetics, liquor, book covers and publishing packaging.
According to the DGTR’s notification, the applicant provided prima disaster proof of the injury in which the domestic industry was exposed to due to the shedding imports.
“Authority is launching an anti-dumping investigation to determine the existence, degree and effect of the damage.” He said.
If it is found that the casting causes material injury in domestic players, DGTR will propose the application of the tax.
The Ministry of Finance makes a final decision to impose the task.
Anti-dumping probes are carried out by countries to determine whether domestic industries have been injured due to the increase in cheap imports.
As a counter precaution, they impose these tasks under the multilateral regime of the Geneva -based World Trade Organization (WTO). The task aims to provide fair trade practices and to create a flat playground against foreign producers and exporters for domestic producers.
India and Indonesia are a DTO member with a 166 -member multilateral trade organ.
India has applied anti-dumping tasks to various products to deal with cheap imports from various countries, including China.
