12-Year-Old Boy Drowns in Open Well in Suryapet District

Nalgonda: A 12-year-old boy drowned in an open agricultural well at Mangapuram in Garidepally mandal of Suryapet district on Friday. The victim, Gundu Sai, was a student of a residential school in Nereducherla and a native of Mangapuram. He was the son of Gundu Anjaiah.

Sai had returned to his village for summer vacation. On Friday afternoon, he went with three friends to an open well on the outskirts of the village. Police said he drowned while swimming in the well. Upon the notice of his friends, people around him took him out of the water, but he died at that time.

Garidepally police reached the spot on tip-off and shifted the body to the district hospital in Huzurnagar for autopsy.
