Jagan Accuses TDP-led Govt in Andhra of Deception, Scams, Fraud
Amaravati: YSRCP chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy described the tenure of the TDP-led government as one defined by “deception, fraud and fraud” in Andhra Pradesh. The opposition leader’s accusations come after the Chandrababu Naidu-led government completed two years in office, which was celebrated by holding a public meeting at Damineedu village in Tirupati district on Friday.
“There is no connection between the words spoken during the elections and what was done after coming to power. Every moment of it is nothing but deception, fraud and fraud!” Jagan said in a post late Friday.
According to him, Naidu came forward with 143 promises in his election manifesto till 2024 polls and today people are asking about the fate of those promises.
The coalition government cheated farmers, women, youth, students and every family. The southern state has seen no development in the last few years other than the spread of “blatant lies”. He claimed that people witnessed “political vendetta, discrimination, brutality and reign of terror”.
“All systems have collapsed. There is no protection for women and children. They corrupted the police along with every system. They brutally undermined peace and security. They rule the state like a forest area. What do we say to a leader who takes revenge on his own people?” he asked.
Referring to the construction of greenfield capital Amaravati, Jagan said “mafias” were carrying out sand, soil, liquor, quartz and laterite activities and operations to “loot the state”.
On the other hand, he claimed that the burden on people was increasing day by day due to “inflated” electricity charges and the increase in VAT on gasoline and diesel. Bus fares increased and prices of basic necessities increased along with taxes.
“But people’s income has not increased! Every family is in financial distress, in distress! As a result, living standards are falling. Poverty is setting in,” the YSRCP leader said.
The opposition leader said agriculture was in crisis due to unfair crop pricing, education and health sectors were deteriorating and the future of unemployed youth was in tatters due to allegations of irregularities and fraud in the DSC teacher recruitment process.
He claimed that the YSRCP’s protest rallies against the two-year-old government across the state on Friday resonated with people’s “pain and dissent towards the current political dispensation”.
Jagan also said that Naidu could fool people for a while with “lies” but could never fool them forever.
“The nation watches everything. It remembers every word. It calculates every deception. Our struggle on behalf of the people… will not stop. We will expose the deceptions. We will question your frauds and injustices!” he said.
Jagan added that with the support of all sections, people’s power and God’s grace, this “evil government” will surely fall.
However, Naidu rejected the opposition’s allegations and said the change of government in 2024 is not just an election victory but giving the responsibility of rebuilding the state.
Naidu claimed that central schemes and irrigation schemes were being eroded while “investors were being driven away” and this was affecting the future of the youth.
Referring to former CM Jagan, Naidu said that people gambling under the guise of three capital cities do not have the right to speak about the people.
During the five years between 2019 and 2024, Andhra Pradesh lost opportunities and we are taking steps to repair the state, he said.
Also, the CM said that his government has put institutions on the right track to honor the faith people have in it.
As promised, we are delivering welfare, development and good governance, he said, adding that the government won the trust of people by implementing welfare promises.
