Australian recognition of Palestine comes into effect; Trump arrives in Arizona for Kirk memorial

Palestinian UN Ambassador Riyadh Mansour called the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia and the Portugal history as the last recognition of the Palestinian state and said that the number of countries recognizing Palestine increased (147 members of the 193 UN members took action according to Bloomberg). The official recognition of Australia’s Palestinian state came into force on Sunday.
Speaking with Al Jazeera, Mansour called on more powerful practical punishing measures to put the Israeli government under pressure and argued that diplomatic recognition, stopping arms sales to Israel, imposing sanctions, and cutting diplomatic and economic ties.
Reports from medical officials say that Israeli attacks in Gaza City have killed at least 68 people overnight.
