Hove hotel fire LIVE: People told ‘stay away’ as hotel evacuated | UK | News

East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service made the first statement to inform the public about the fire this afternoon.

It read: “East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service received repeated calls to reports of smoke on the 4th floor of the Imperial Hotel on First Avenue, Hove, at 3.11pm on 23 December 2025.”

“Teams are at the scene and confirmed that a fire broke out in a room on the 4th floor as of 15.45.

“They use a main jet and two breathing apparatus, as well as a ladder platform.

“There was no loss of life and people are being evacuated from the hotel.

“The police and ambulance were also alerted.

“As the building is a high-rise building, Joint Fire Control dispatched multiple fire trucks to the scene.

“Please avoid the area while we work.”
