Alleged ‘kill car’ stopped after police pursuit in western Sydney
Four people wearing ski masks in a stolen luxury SUV was enough to trigger a police chase; this resulted in a crash and the discovery of a shotgun and petrol canisters in the latest seizure of an alleged “killer car” in the Sydney underworld.
Three men will appear in court on Tuesday, while the fourth remains at large after a chase in western Sydney on Monday afternoon.
As the black Mercedes-Benz approached police on Regina Street in Greystanes, it sped away from police and allegedly reached speeds of up to 80km/h on suburban streets before crashing into a parked car on Merrylands West Paton Street.
The men fled the scene, two were chased by police officers, while the third was arrested after being pursued by police dogs and a helicopter.
A loaded shotgun was found under the driver’s seat along with two jerry cans in the back of the SUV believed to have been stolen from Victoria.

A 20-year-old Penrith man was allegedly driving the car and was charged with stalking offences, as well as failing to display P plates.
Two Woodcroft men, aged 19 and 22, will also appear in Parramatta Local Court on Tuesday.
