The Pittsburgh Steelers escaped Detroit by beating the Lions 29-24 in the final seconds of the game on Sunday.
Jared Goff and the Lions had one last chance. The team won multiple shootouts in the scoring area after struggling through penalty flags. But they had one more chance. Goff dropped back to pass and St. He targeted Brown. The wide receiver intercepted the pass and was initially thought to have been intercepted before the goal line. But he tipped the ball to Goff, who scored what the team and fans thought was the game-winning goal.
The flag was thrown into the game.
The team on duty took their time to sort out the confusion. Fans waited with bated breath to see what the call would be. Officials said there was a touchdown on the play, but St. Brown was called for offensive pass interference while trying to open up Jalen Ramsey.
Detroit fans’ chants immediately turned into boos. Lions players stood in disbelief.

“Chaos,” Aaron Rodgers said when asked how he would describe the final play. “I was part of a match 13 years ago where there was this kind of chaos, but there were also some substitute referees.
“I mean, even watching it now it looks like there’s an OPI. It looks like it’s stopped. It looks like the progress has stopped. It’s a crazy game.”
This was a big win for the Steelers as they try to stay atop the AFC North.
Rodgers was 27-of-41 for 266 passing yards and a touchdown pass to Kenneth Gainwell. Running back Jaylen Warren had 143 rushing yards on 14 carries and two touchdowns.
This win also ensured another winning season for head coach Mike Tomlin. 19 consecutive seasons with a record of at least .500 or better.
