Best small car for UK roads named and it’s not a MINI, Peugeot or Ford

Although there has been a sharp increase in the number of SUV models hitting UK roads in recent years, car companies are still producing more compact vehicles.
Recently, we have seen a revival of sedan and estate models and an increased interest in smaller models.
Advances in battery technology and petrol engines mean it is now possible to go much further with a smaller battery and/or engine than it was a few years ago.
With this in mind, automotive experts Which Car? they’ve compiled a list of the best small cars on sale in the UK today.

First in their ranking was the Toyota Aygo X, which is now offered equipped with a hybrid engine – a combination of gasoline and electricity.
They praised it for being very economical, fun to drive, and with a 10-year warranty. Although it was criticized for being a little narrow for rear passengers and having a smaller trunk than rival cars, it still came out on top.
They said: “The Toyota Aygo
“The key to its appeal is that it is hybrid, meaning it can run on electric power alone over short distances.”

at 5 Which Car? He said the decision to take second place was a difficult one and praised the car for its “adult driving style” and infotainment system, but criticized it for the small discounts and “tight” rear legroom.
They said: “If you decide that going electric is right for you, though, then you’ll love the Renault 5. From its cheeky styling to its tech-heavy interior, this is a thoroughly forward-looking electric car, even if it looks a bit retro.”
Third after the 5 was its sister car, the Renault Clio. Which Car? Because she is “perfect in every way” compared to Mary Poppins. They were very positive about its interior, ride, handling balance and practicality.
However, they noted that the rear seats were also a bit of a nuisance for tall adults, with a firm ride at low speed and a high lip of the trunk. The lip refers to how high the bottom entrance of the trunk is.
Like Aygo X, Clio also has both hybrid and gasoline options.
