Maharashtra woman doctor’s death: Jarange meets her kin, gets them to speak to CM Fadnavis, Dy CM

Maratha quota activist Manoj Jarange on Saturday, November 1, 2025, met the relative of the female doctor who died in Satara district of Maharashtra last week.

The doctor, who hailed from Beed district, was found dead in a hotel room in Phaltan on October 23. In a note written on her palm, she alleged that sub-inspector Gopal Badane raped her many times while software engineer Prashant Bankar mentally abused her. Both were arrested.

Mr. Jarange met his family at Kavadgaon in Wadwani tehsil and assured them of his support in their fight for justice.

Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis spoke to Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Home Minister Yogesh Kadam over the phone and also had them interact with the doctor’s relatives.

Leaders assured the family of their full support and cooperation.

“The CM assured me that the decision to form a Special Investigation Team will be taken within two days,” Mr. Jarange said.

On Friday, the CM directed the state Director General of Police to set up the SIT under the direction of a woman IPS officer.
