Palantir trying to ‘destroy’ Percepta execs say in legal response

Last year, a lawsuit was filed against the executives of artificial intelligence startup Percepta AI. palantir He described the allegations as an attempt to “stifle competition” by allegedly stealing classified information and trying to poach top talent.
“In reality, Palantir wants to scare others away from leaving and destroy Percepta before it gets any bigger,” attorneys for the defendants wrote in a filing this week, asking a judge to deny Palantir’s request. he wrote.
The defendants also claim that the post-employment agreements are “apparently overbroad and unenforceable” and say Palantir’s interpretation amounts to “stifling competition.”
caseThe lawsuit, first filed by Palantir in the Southern District of New York in October, accused Percepta co-founder and CEO Hirsh Jain and co-founder Radha Jain of using stolen information to create a “counterfeit” business. Palantir also claimed that founders working for the data analytics company were trying to poach talent and “plunder Palantir’s valuable intellectual property.”
Palantir accused a third Percepta employee, Joanna Cohen, of sending it confidential documents after she resigned and taking photos of sensitive information she downloaded to her personal phone.
In December, Percepta denied using any of Palantir’s confidential information and called the lawsuit “baseless.”
In-depth searches did not turn up any Palantir materials, the attorneys said in Monday’s filing, and argued that the screenshots Cohen took were made “in good faith” to help him complete his tasks. They said the ingredients would be “useless to Percepta and have become stale regardless.”
Palantir declined to comment.
