Donald Trump can meet Vladimir Putin At an early date next week, Russia-Ukraine War.
A meeting between Putin and Mr. Trump will be an important milestone in the war, but there is no guarantee that such a meeting will lead to the end of the war. Russia and Ukraine are away from their demands.
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said that there should be a lot before a meeting.
Mr. Rubio said the US would meet with European allies and Ukrainians. Mr. Trump said he would help to close an agreement with Russia and Ukraine leaders.
He said: “We have to get close enough to this point, so that such a meeting will be productive and worth doing.”
A potential meeting with Putin came hours after Mr. Trump’s special ambassador Steve Witkoff met with Putin in Moscow.
Mr. Trump reported that Witkoff had previously had a “highly productive meeting” with Putin, where Witkoff “had made great progress in Social.
Mr. Zelensky will be willing to meet with Putin face to face to end the conflict, but Russia rejected the idea over and over again.
Russia’s Ambassador to UN Dmitry Polyansky said that they agree to journalists about the meeting that a position “did not want to argue”.
When asked what Russia’s purpose is for the meeting, Polyansky said: “Russia’s objectives are always peace and security in the world. They do not change and this is the purpose we follow in such negotiations.”
