Four teenage girls plead guilty to manslaughter of Kristie McBride

Four teenagers have filed last-minute manslaughter allegations over the death of 39-year-old mother of two Kristie McBride.
Ms McBride was found with stab wounds on Wegit Way, Warrawong, at around 6.30pm on November 22, 2023.

Police said the woman was injured while trying to break up a street fight.
He was taken to Wollongong Hospital in a critical condition and died 10 days after the attack.
The four teenage girls, aged 16 to 17 and who cannot be named because of their age, pleaded not guilty to murder before a jury was seated in Darlinghurst District Court on Monday.
But in a last-minute twist, the girls entered a plea of guilty to manslaughter rather than murder in the Supreme Court on Monday afternoon.
The girls will now be sentenced for manslaughter instead of the trial, which is expected to last 25 days.
They will return to court on December 15 before Judge Richard Cavanagh.
