Wayanad records highest polling percentage in State

Wayanad district recorded the highest vote percentage at 78.15 in the local body elections in the state on Thursday.

Kalpetta block panchayat (80%), Sulthan Bathery block panchayat (79.19%) and Mananthavady Block Panchayat (78.69%) are at the top. Kalpetta municipality received 77.26 percent votes, while Sulthan Bathery municipality received 77.48 percent votes. Mananthavady municipality recorded 78.68% voting.

Wayanad district panchayat recorded 78.21% voting. 50 thousand 502 of 64 thousand 378 voters in the district voted.

Voting procedures in the district were quite calm. The voting process, which progressed slowly in the morning, gained momentum around 10:00 and slowed down again after 11:00. However, it gained momentum later in the day.

Vote counting will begin at 08:00 on Saturday in 7 designated centers in the district.
