Jennifer Lopez confronts Howard Stern after years of him trashing her on-air

Jennifer Lopez made her first appearance on The Howard Stern Show this week; This comes after the shock jock focused on her looks, talent and relationships for years.

Lopez opened the interview by confessing: ‘I was always afraid to be on the show.’

Lopez candidly discussed everything from her dating life to fame to aging, and even revealed the one movie role she regrets turning down.
Howard opened the interview by asking Lopez if fame had made it difficult for her to date other celebrities, and Lopez appeared to hint that she had recently split from Ben Affleck.
Lopez filed for divorce from Affleck in August 2024, nearly two years after their reunion and July 2022 wedding.
The couple originally dated and got engaged nearly 20 years ago.
‘It’s hard being under that microscope,’ he admitted.

“No, I don’t feel that way,” he replied immediately.
‘I feel like I’m the right person to handle this and… I think I’ve made mistakes… so I’m living my life very loudly… even though I’m in the public eye.’
‘And I wanted to share my life with someone. I want someone to be there to share my big important moments on the red carpet.
‘That’s why I didn’t hide from him. And I talked about it. And I think now, after everything that’s happened to me and my kids in the last few years, I feel like… I want to keep this part of my life a lot quieter.’
He continued, ‘When you have this level of fame, there’s a compromise… because it’s such a blessed life… it’s one of those trade-offs… you have to learn to navigate your personal life, and my personal life has suffered at times because of that.’
‘And now I understand that You I have to change You you need to change your behavior’…if You You want to have a successful relationship in your life.’
Stern then turned and asked: ‘Was there ever a time when you wanted this guy but couldn’t get him?’

Howard opened the interview by asking Lopez if fame had made it harder for her to date other celebrities, and Lopez appeared to hint that she had recently split from Ben Affleck.
Lopez laughed and replied: ‘There was a guy that caught my eye… and I threw him there but he didn’t take it. I won’t say his name… but that was… 10 years ago…’
He continued, ‘Yeah, he didn’t answer and I said ‘okay’. I just kind of moved on. I already regret saying this. ‘I was very subtle, maybe they didn’t get the signal.’
As for the one movie he regrets turning down?
‘Adrian Lyne is Unfaithful,’ she replied, referring to the 2002 thriller role that eventually went to Diane Lane opposite Richard Gere.
Lopez admitted that she passed on it ‘because the script wasn’t good… and then Lyne made it great.’
The frankness between Stern and Lopez came as quite a shock, considering the shock jock had repeatedly targeted her with harsh words over the past two decades.
He criticized her red carpet outfits, saying her MTV Awards look made her ‘look like a hippo’.
Stern mocked her singing, claiming that her rendition of “You Belong to Me” sounded like karaoke and proved that she was “not a great singer.”
He also rejected acting and cop show projects as unconvincing.
Stern once publicly admitted that he “couldn’t stand her” because he was “treating her the wrong way.”
Despite all this, Lopez was a good sport during her first appearance on the show, proving that she could handle Stern’s tough love with grace and humor.
He even ended the interview with a simple ‘You’re a gentleman, you’re very kind’ towards Stern.
