The city police arrested three staff members of a private college in Bengaluru for allegedly forcing some students to remove their ‘janivara’ (sacred thread) before appearing for the Common Entrance Test (CET-2026) on Friday.
A similar incident had led to a controversy in Shivamogga and Bidar last year, following which the Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA) had issued directions not to force any student to remove any religious identity card or symbol.
