Waste treatment factory to resume operations

The district-level facilitation and monitoring committee on Thursday allowed the Ambayathode-based slaughterhouse waste treatment plant to resume operations from October 31 under strict regulations and monitoring.

The permission was granted by the committee headed by District Collector Snehil Kumar Singh after examining the field-level inspection reports submitted by the Kerala State Pollution Control Board and Suchitwa Mission. The total amount of waste treated at the facility will be reduced from 25 tons to 20 tons. Additionally, the operation of the facility will not be allowed after 18:00.
