July 15 Deadline Set for Temple Facilities

vijayawada: Endowments Commissioner K. Ramachandra Mohan directed the officials to ensure that the new Annadanam building and Prasadam Preparation Center at Sri Kanaka Durga Temple are opened before July 15.

During the inspection of development works at the top of Indrakeeladri on Sunday, the Commissioner reviewed the progress of infrastructure projects aimed at improving facilities for devotees. The temple president, accompanied by the bailiff and engineering officials, evaluated the ongoing work in the temple.

He first inspected the renovated Ashirvachana Mandapam and expressed his satisfaction with the quality of the completed flooring works.

The commissioner then inspected the new Annadanam building and the Prasadam Preparation Center (Potu), both of which are in the final stages of construction in the foothill area. He instructed the officials to make a few changes to improve crowd management and comfort of devotees.

Making it clear that the facilities should be opened before July 15, Ramachandra Mohan instructed the temple management officer to consult the Vedic Committee and finalize the opening date and muhurtham by Monday evening. He also directed engineering officials and contractors to complete all pending works on war footing.

The Commissioner noted that heavy pilgrim participation is expected in the upcoming Ashadha Sare Samarpana and Shakambari festivals. He said making the new facilities available before the festivals would significantly improve services for devotees.

He also instructed the authorities to expedite land acquisition for the proposed queue complex and reiterated the government’s commitment to develop the temple with modern infrastructure and amenities.

Temple Trust Board chairman Borra Radhakrishna, Chief Executive Officer VK Seena Naik, board members and engineering officials attended the inspection.
