Lady Louise Windsor was described as “very down-to-earth” by a former royal aide who was present for her premature birth. Lady Louise, currently in her fourth and final year at St Andrew’s University, is the only daughter of the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh.
The late Queen Elizabeth II Elizabeth and Prince Philip’s youngest grandchild, now 22 years old, was born on November 8, 2003. Ailsa Anderson, the late monarch’s former press secretary, has now shared her observations about the young royal.
He said: “I love seeing pictures of Louise. I love the story of her sitting slumped over her laptop on a train, doing work, coming home from university or coming home.”
To talk HELLO!He continued: “I think he’s very, very down-to-earth. I like that he takes his grandfather as an example when it comes to driving.
“This is a real passion of his. It’s a continuation of this incredible interest and hobby,” he said, adding that he would be “an interesting person to watch.”
She also said of Louise’s younger brother James, 18, Earl of Wessex: “I think both boys seem particularly down-to-earth and normal. “We don’t see them on the balcony very much, just occasionally.
“If there’s a big incident, they’re there, but they’re pretty much under the radar so they can live their lives normally, if there’s such a thing as normal for a member of the Royal Family when the King is your uncle.”
Following her early arrival, Lady Louise spent two weeks in intensive care in the specialist neonatal unit at St George’s Hospital in South West London.

She said: “They raised Louise very much, I think. I think Louise has always had a very dear place in their hearts, like any child, but because it was such a difficult birth. I remember exactly where I was when I got the call to say that Sophie was in a really difficult situation and when she gave birth to Louise she lost half a pint of blood and almost lost her life. As I said, Louise has a very special place in their lives, as does their son James.”
