Congress protests in Chhattisgarh against ‘misuse of investigating agencies’

The Chhattisgarh unit of the Congress party protested both on the streets and in the Assembly, alleging misuse of central and State investigation agencies to suppress the Opposition.
The Congress party staged protests outside the BJP office after the court rejected the ED’s charge in the National Herald case.
Earlier, Congress members entered the Parliament during Question Hour wearing clothes with “Satyamev Jayate” posters. While they chanted slogans saying the government was misusing investigative agencies, Treasury ministers took exception to this and speaker Raman Singh said it was against the rules. Former CM Bhupesh Baghel posted a clip of Congress MPs marching in the Assembly and holding or carrying placards with slogan Satyamev Jayate over X “Against every force and oppression, Struggle is our motto…
After tarnishing the image of our national leadership for a decade by misusing agencies, the BJP has now been exposed. The court, while chastising the ED, made it clear that no money laundering case had been registered in the National Herald against Ms. Sonia Gandhi, Mr. Rahul Gandhi or anyone else.
We all stand united against the BJP’s desire to intimidate and threaten the opposition by abusing institutions. Today in the Chhattisgarh Assembly we all reiterated the resolve of “Satyameva Jayate”.
During question hour, Mr Singh said the use of posters and banners inside the House was inappropriate and against parliamentary rules. He asked members of Congress to remove them and then attend House hearings. BJP MLA Chandrakar asked under what rules Congress members entered the Assembly wearing posters on their clothes.
The House was adjourned three times as Congress remained defiant. Later, the speaker stated that he found it inappropriate for the Congress to disrupt the question hour and claimed that questions about public issues were discussed during the question hour.
