More than 70 firefighters called to blaze engulfing Southall church | UK | News

Scores of firefighters rushed to west London after a fire broke out at a church on Sunday evening. More than 10 fire engines and 70 police officers raced to tackle flames burning at the building in South Road, Southall.
It is not yet clear where the fire started, but the fire burned most of the ground floor and second floor and set the roof on fire. Two of the London Fire Brigade’s 32-metre aerial ladders are at the scene as they try to control the flames.
A spokesman for the force added: “Control Officers received the first of more than 20 calls at 9.30pm and mobilized crews from Southall, Ealing, Heston and surrounding fire stations to the scene. “The cause of the fire is not yet known.
“Please avoid the area while the incident is ongoing.”
Videos posted on social media show fire trucks being supported along the street as firefighters race towards the scene.
Flames coming from the roof appear to illuminate the surrounding area.
The video shows the fire almost completely burning down most of the upper floors of the church.
