Four people are arrested on suspicion of murder after death of young woman who was found unconscious in the street

Four people have been arrested following the death of an unidentified young woman who was found unconscious on the street in Leeds.

Police officers rushed to Kennerleigh Avenue in Austhorpe at 5.55am today following reports that a woman, believed to be a teenager, was lying unconscious in the street.

It was announced that the woman, who was seriously injured and taken to the hospital for emergency treatment, died a short time later.

Police have not been able to identify the woman and have released details of her description in the hope that someone may recognize her and her next of kin can be notified.

He is believed to be in his mid to late teens and is described as having a tanned complexion and a slim build.

He was 6 feet tall, with green eyes and brown hair, darker at the roots and blonder at the ends, the added force added. In addition, fixed metal braces were placed on his upper and lower teeth.

Four people, including two 18-year-old women, a 20-year-old man and a 17-year-old boy, were arrested from a nearby address on suspicion of murder.

All four remain in custody while West Yorkshire Police continue to investigate.

Senior Investigating Officer, Detective Chief Inspector Marc Bowes, said: ‘This is an extremely complex investigation in which a young woman sadly lost her life.

‘We are treating his death as murder and have arrested four people in connection with it.

‘Despite extensive inquiries throughout today, we have not yet been able to confirm his identity.

‘We hope that by revealing these details someone will recognize who he is and come forward.

‘I would also like to speak to anyone who was in the Kennerleigh Avenue area in the early hours of this morning or who may have seen any suspicious activity nearby.’
