An affordable UK broadband provider has announced improved speeds as part of a special relaunched promotion. Community Fiber is a broadband provider that covers mostly London and some other areas in Southern England. has announced that it is doubling the speed of its Essentials social plan for new customers from 35Mbps to 70Mbps for the same price of £12.50 per month.
The offer will be valid until May 6, 11:59, and households can sign up for a 12-month full fiber package to benefit from this package. The package is known as a social tariff, but households do not need to submit an income certificate to benefit from this package. Community Fiber says the bundle gives households access to “a high-quality, reliable connection to help them accomplish daily online tasks, stay in touch with loved ones, and manage finances.”
The deal was reintroduced after Ofcom found more than half of low-income households were unaware of deals that could help them save money. It also found that only 5% of 4.3 million eligible households had signed up to a social tariff or discounted package.
Its price of £12.50 makes it one of the cheapest packages available for people in London and South East England. Community Fiber is a popular choice for many in the UK capital, building, owning and operating its own network, providing high-speed connectivity to homes and businesses.
