Part of busy road set to close for six months

A part of a busy road in Salford will close for six months as part of a large regeneration project.

Frederick Road will close between Lissadel Street and Leslie Hough Way as of July 12th.

The closing stems from the construction of Salford Rise, a 721FT (220m) gate, which will provide a traffic without traffic throughout the city.

While a deflection is made with drivers directed to Lissadel Street, Cromwell Road, Gerald Road and Seaford Road, pedestrians can walk to Broughton Road East.

Parking restrictions will also be made at Lissadel Street and Broghton Road East.

Salford Rise is a project for Frederick to create a new connection to Salford University Campus, to walk and cycling more people in the city.

It started on the plan in September 2024 and will finish next summer.

Salford is part of the Crescent Salford Project, a 240 -acre master plan to research and transform some of the city center with more than 3,000 new houses and buildings for businesses.
