Hilsa Export To India Cleared By Bangladesh Ahead Of Durga Puja

NEW DELHI: On Tuesday, the Bangladesh government gave orders to allow 37 companies to export Hilsa Fish to India for Durga Puja festivals. The first shipment will come from Petrapole-Benapole Land Port on Wednesday.

The Emir, which was given by the Bangladesh Ministry of Commerce on Tuesday, said the export permit would be between 16 September – 5 October. The minimum export price of Hilsa fish was determined as $ 12.5 (1100 RS) per kilogram and allowed. The order also states that export permit is irrevocable and exporters cannot carry the shipment to others and are not allowed to exceed the allowed limit.
Hilsa, an announcement for export permission Bangladesh High Commissioner India Mr. Riaz Hamidullah said that the movement was a “permanent friendship sign” on September 8th.
Hamidullah, in an article in X, “Ilish (Hilsa) comes! Bangladesh government, the most appropriate fish before the festival seasons, decided to export to India as a sign of permanent friendship,” he said.
