CJ Roy’s networth: From private jet to Lamborghinis, all we know about Confident Group Chairman’s wealth

Kochi-born entrepreneur Chiriankandath Joseph Roy has built a multi-country business footprint spanning real estate, hospitality, education, aviation and entertainment. Over the years, Confident Group has emerged as a prominent name, especially well-known in the real estate circles of Bengaluru, with operations in India, UAE and the United States.
Beyond work, Roy held a diplomatic post as the Honorary Consul of the Slovak Republic in Karnataka and Kerala and was associated with various cultural and social initiatives. Statements linked to the company indicate that the group has completed more than 150 projects ranging from residential complexes to large-format townships.
His major projects included Zion Hills Golf District near Bengaluru; this is a sprawling luxury project widely reported to be worth around Rs 3,000 million. Roy has often emphasized that Confident Group follows a zero-debt approach (an unusual stance in India’s heavily leveraged real estate sector), often positioning this as a key reason for the group’s resilience.
From humble roots to big bets
Roy often talked about his early exposure to real estate through his family. Growing up in central Bengaluru, he observed land collection and house construction up close, learning the basics of cash flow and transactions while helping manage accounts.
A decisive moment came in the early 2000s when he started buying large parcels of land on Sarjapur Road; It was considered too far out by most developers at the time. Roy continued to advance despite the resistance of his own circle; this move proved to be extremely profitable as land values increased over the following decade.
Confident Group was founded in 1991. As of March 31, 2025, the company reportedly had assets in excess of Rs 2,000 billion and had delivered around 160 projects across three countries.
