Trump vows to call NBC’s Savannah Guthrie following mother’s disappearance

President Donald Trump promised to personally call NBC “Today” co-anchor Savannah Guthrie on Tuesday and offer additional federal assistance following the kidnapping of her mother in Tuscon, Arizona.
Nancy Guthrie, 84, was last seen at her home around 9:30 p.m. Saturday and was reported missing by her family around noon Sunday, according to the Pima County Sheriff’s Department.
While authorities did not immediately provide details about the circumstances of her disappearance, they said they believed Nancy Guthrie was either abducted or abducted and noted that blood was found outside the home.
During a Q&A session in the White House Oval Office on Tuesday, Trump said he was considering sending additional federal agents to assist in the investigation.

“I think this is terrible,” Trump said. “I’ll call [Savannah Guthrie] later. I think this is a terrible thing. … It’s very unusual, but we’ll find out.”
Despite the duo’s showdown at an NBC town hall in October 2020, Trump added: “I’ve always gotten along very well with Savannah.”
At a Miami town hall, Savannah Guthrie pressed Trump on his administration’s handling of the COVID-19 pandemic and made social media posts questioning the death of Osama bin Laden.
At one point, she accused Trump of “sending lies” to his followers and likened him to “someone’s crazy uncle.”

while Pima County Sheriff’s Department and the FBI continue to investigate the disappearance of Nancy Guthrie, authorities confirmed Tuesday that they were “aware” of reports of a possible ransom note.
“We are aware of reports circulating about possible ransom notes related to the investigation of Nancy Guthrie,” the sheriff’s office said in a statement Tuesday afternoon. he wrote. “Everything that comes in goes directly to our detectives. “I’m coordinating with the FBI.”
