It is understood Meghan Markle will face a major family change as her estranged father Thomas considers another marriage at the age of 81. Sources close to the Markle family revealed that Markle is in love with 46-year-old Filipino nurse Rio Caneda and is “happier than she could have ever imagined.”

The two met at a rehabilitation hospital in the Philippines following Mr Markle’s amputation last December. This would be his third marriage, following his marriage to Roslyn Loveless in 1964 and his marriage to Doria Ragland, mother of the Duchess of Sussex, in 1987. A source told the Daily Express: “Thomas has told me he will marry her immediately and is telling the rest of the family that he is happier than he could have ever imagined at the thought of spending the rest of his life with Rio.”

The source did not specify whether Markle would be in the United States or returning to the Philippines, where she said she “loves” living and “enjoys life.”
