Trump posts AI video of him as doctor treating critics’ ‘derangement syndrome’ | Donald Trump
Donald Trump on Thursday Posted a social media video created by artificial intelligence He portrays himself as a doctor who claims to have cured some famous critics, including Rosie O’Donnell, of the fictional “Trump derangement syndrome” disease.
Other than the artificial intelligence fantasy, O’Donnell said her assessment of the president remains unchanged. He offered his own diagnosis in a statement: “He’s pretty sick and getting worse every day. That’s exactly why the 25th amendment exists. Impeach. Impeach. Convict.”
The testimonial-style video shared on social media by @realDonaldTrump features AI-generated versions of celebrities speaking out against the president and his administration, including Whoopi Goldberg, Edward Norton and Julia Roberts.
The video uses hyper-realistic, fabricated images to portray celebrities as regretting their antipathy towards the president.
“I couldn’t eat, I couldn’t sleep, I was angry all the time,” said the deepfake version of Robert De Niro. “I made everyone around me miserable.”
Wearing a white coat and stethoscope, AI “Dr Trump” says he’s not sure he can help those suffering from TDS, a term used by the president and his allies to accuse critics of irrationally opposing his agenda.
“They went so far that I wasn’t really sure,” the fake Trump says, before introducing his projected “treatment plan.”
Patients suffering from TDS should “turn off the fake news, pray, and if you ever feel anxious, drink a Diet Coke like I do, you will see a remarkable difference in your life,” Trump says.
Trump has enthusiastically engaged in AI-generated content, some of it shocking, often to idealize his own presidency or target his opponents. Earlier this year, Trump shared a photo depicting himself as Jesus healing the sick. He deleted the post following backlash from high-profile Christian commentators and allies who called the image blasphemous.
In another, he describes himself as Pope Benedict XIV. He depicted himself as the Pope in the middle of a fight with Leo. Last year, he gleefully published a fake Time magazine cover depicting himself as a crowned king. “Long live the king!” he declared.
In February, Trump sparked angry reactions by sharing a racist video depicting Barack Obama and Michelle Obama as monkeys. He deleted the post but refused to apologize.
The White House viewed these posts as largely humorous and part of the president’s political messaging style. In response to the president’s latest video, White House spokesman Davis Ingle said it was Trump’s “right” to release it.
“Trump Derangement Syndrome is a crippling disease that unfortunately rots the brains of many people,” he added.
Officials have not confirmed whether the White House has contacted any of the actors depicted about using their likenesses.
