Snoring on the rise among Brits as nation gets fatter, study finds

Bad news for anyone who doesn’t want to share a bed with an asthmatic Morse with an asthmatic Morse – Snoring will rise significantly in England because we become more fat.

Almost half of young and middle -aged adults will soon suffer from obstructive sleep apnea where the upper airline collapses during sleep.

The situation that disturbs the sleep of people who owns and usually leaves their partners alert is linked to obesity.

In 2020, one-third of adults aged 30-69 years lived with an obstructive sleep apnea (OSA), which caused people to wake up 40 times a night with a snort or pale left. However, it is estimated that this figure will reach 45 percent by 2035.

Obese people tend to have more adipose tissue on their necks, which prints the airway and is more narrow and more likely to collapse. In addition, the risk of high blood pressure and heart problems is higher.

Treatment involves the use of a mask called continuous positive airline pressure (CPAP) machine that keeps the airways open during sleep.

An international research team calculated that 54 percent of men aged 30-69 years will have OSA in England by 2050 – currently 39 percent. In women of this age, 49 percent is currently expected to have OSA from 36 percent to 2050.

This means that the number of people in the UK will increase from approximately 7.7 million to 11.9 million.

According to the study, snoring will rise significantly in England because we become fat

Professor Jean-Louis Pepin, Professor Jean-Louis Pepin of Grenoble Alpes University in France, said: ‘Obstructive sleep apnea is one of the most common but less diagnosed sleep disorders with great effects for health and quality of life.’

OSA not only causes snoring, but at the same time, while oxygen’s bodies hungry by stopping breathing throughout the night, it means that patients work less well throughout the day, which can be a safety problem.

The study predicted that the rate of people living with OSA increased faster than some other European countries in Britain.

The number of patients here is expected to increase by 58 percent between 2020 and 2050 compared to 28 percent in Germany and 42 percent in Spain.

However, France and Italy are worse, 61 percent and 78 percent, respectively.

Last week, the study was presented at the European Respiratory Association Congress in Amsterdam and included researchers from Pain, a company that made CPAP machines.

Separate research presented to the conference looked at 19,325 patients in 25 cities and found that they were exposed to worse symptoms if they lived in areas with higher air pollution.
