Police arrest female ambulance service worker, 59, and male colleague in his 30s for manslaughter over six adult deaths after two-year investigation

As part of a two -year police investigation on six deaths in Wiltshire, two ambulance service employees were arrested on suspicion of murder.

A man in his 30s from West Wildshire was arrested by six great negligence men and four points of ill -treatment or a care worker on suspicion of intentional neglect.

A 59 -year -old woman was also arrested on suspicion of heavy negligence.

Wiltshire police said that the couple was released on bail.

South West Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust confirmed that two personnel suspended and said the deaths were ‘isolated an isolated event’.

A spokesperson of the South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust said: ‘As soon as Trust realized any concern, we immediately started an internal investigation that immediately resulted in a police referral and we are working closely with them as part of the ongoing investigation.

“ Two personnel members were suspended. The suspension of two personnel meant that they were immediately relieved of all tasks, including the treatment of patients.

‘We want to assure people that this is an isolated situation and that there is no ongoing risk for patients. Please continue to search for 999 in a life -threatening emergency.

One of the two people who were initially suspended is no longer used by trust.

‘Due to the ongoing investigation, there will be no other comment at this stage.’

DCI Phil Walker from the Great Crime Investigation team at the Wiltshire Police said: ‘We arrested a man from the West Wildshire in his 30s with a great neglect of negligence and a nursing employee with four suspicion of ill -treatment or intentional neglect.

In addition, we arrested a 59 -year -old woman on suspicion of heavy neglect.

‘While the investigations continued, both were released on conditional bail.’

Authority added: ‘We can confirm that a major investigation into a few adult deaths in and around Wiltshire.

‘This investigation has been continuing since the first report to the Wiltshire police in 2023, and detailed investigations were conducted to detect the facts.

In June 2024, we arrested a man from West Wiltshire in June 2024 with a great negligence man and four points of ill -treatment or a care worker on a deliberate suspicion of negligence.

In addition, in March this year, we arrested a 59 -year -old woman on suspicion of having a heavy neglect man.

“ Both were released on conditional bail while our investigations continued.

‘Our focus is to support their families and loved ones, and we want the media to respect their privacy right now.’
