A crash on the M4 has caused traffic to come to a standstill and led to potential problems for people heading to Bristol Airport. National Highways said this afternoon that traffic was temporarily stopped on the M5 and the eastbound M4 motorway between J19 and J20, while the M32 motorway was diverted towards Bristol due to the collision.

Traffic monitoring service Inrix said the crash, which sent emergency crews rushing to the area, occurred shortly before 11.30am. Long queues have begun to form in the area and people heading to England’s major airport have been urged by National Highways to “allow plenty of time for the journey” to avoid missing their flights.
