BJP accuses Kerala’s LDF govt of violating model code of conduct, sees political motive behind distribution of pension forms

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Kerala general secretary S. Suresh on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, accused the Left Democratic Front (LDF) government of violating the model code of conduct ahead of the local body elections by trying to influence voters through “deceptive and politically motivated tactics”.

Addressing a press conference in Thiruvananthapuram, the BJP leader criticized the continued circulation of Sthird Suraksha pension forms and alleged that it was part of a deliberate effort to influence voters.

Mr. Suresh said using the official machinery to “coerce and attract voters” amounted to “manipulation” of the electoral process and urged the State Election Commission to take immediate action.

He also claimed that both the CPI(M) and the Congress were grappling with civil unrest across the state and a large number of rebel candidates were heading to the polls. In contrast, he claimed that the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) was functioning as a disciplined alliance with only a few isolated issues that the party had already resolved.

He criticized the Congress leadership’s perceived reluctance to take action against Palakkad MLA Rahul Mamkootathil, who was involved in the sexual harassment scandal. He also questioned why the State government did not initiate suo motu proceedings despite so-called “evidence”, including details of phone calls and chat messages, circulating in the public domain.
