Kyle Busch’s wife shares heartbreaking Father’s Day tribute after death

Samantha Busch, wife of late NASCAR driver Kyle Busch, remembered her husband in a heartbreaking social media post on Father’s Day, a month after his death.
Busch tragically passed away last month at the age of 41 from severe pneumonia that progressed to sepsis.
Samantha’s emotional tribute to her late husband came from her and her two children, 11-year-old son Brexton and four-year-old daughter Lennix.

“This still doesn’t feel real at all,” Samantha captioned the post, which included photos and videos of the family together. “I was up all night thinking about what today must be like for Kyle and the kids. The Father’s Day cards that had been prepared were sitting in a drawer with no one to give them to. I was trying to figure out how to make such a joyful day for them.”
Samantha recalled her husband’s parenting skills and said he “never missed an opportunity to be silly” when he was there for moments where he “stayed up a little bit longer” reading a bedtime story to the kids or simply spending more time together.

“Nothing made him prouder than being the father of Brexton and Lennix,” he added.
Photos and videos showed the Busch family meeting Kyle at the track after races with loving hugs and smiles, regardless of the outcome. Others were just minutes away from work, whether it was spending time on a boat, having fun on the beach, or chilling out at home.
Samantha said Kyle would promise to tell his many stories and make sure his children always knew how much their father loved them.

“Watching these memories hurts more than I can explain, but it also reminds me of how lucky we were to have him,” Samantha’s post continued. “Kyle, the kids and I miss you every second of every day. Our hearts ache for you, but it’s more than that. Your absence is something we feel physically. Our bodies hurt from missing you, from reaching for someone who isn’t there, from loving someone we can’t hug anymore.”
These raw emotions were expressed by Samantha, but she noted: “Brexton and Lennix always know how deeply loved they are by their father.”
He completed the statement by saying “Happy Father’s Day.” “We love you and miss you more than words can express.”
Busch’s death shocked the racing world and prompted an outpouring of condolences, sadness and tributes to one of the sport’s greatest drivers.

He was honored at the Coca-Cola 600 shortly after his death on May 21. His parents, Tom and Gaye Busch, and his older brother joined Samantha and the kids at the track, where Kyle’s memory and everything he gave to NASCAR were honored.
“Kyle Busch is NASCAR,” NASCAR CEO Steve O’Donnell said at the race. “He was one of a kind and there will never be another.”
