Health watchdog warns public warned about suspended dentist Peter Terzi

The public was warned about a dentist suspended by the health guard but still operating on patients.

The Australian Health Practitioner Editorial Agency (AHPRA) issued its first public statement in accordance with new laws to warn the consumers about Peter Terzi, also known as Peter Taylor, who regulated a binary dentist and nurse recording.

Mr. Terzi was under investigation and was suspended from both professions in February this year.

Ahpra claims that it pose a serious risk for people because of the behavior of the suspended Western Australian practitioner.

“He is under investigation and Ahpra believes that he can continue to present himself as a registered dentist or nurse when he was suspended and unregistered,” he said.

Mr. Terzi faces criminal charges and in front of the court for keeping himself as an indifferent dentist and carrying out a limited dentistry.

He claimed that he was not guilty of the charges.

AHPRA CEO Justin Untersteiner said that the power of warning to the public entered into force two years ago, but the public forces on Monday were used for the first time.

“We take the issue of receiving public statements very seriously and we will publish such statements only in exceptional cases that need to be informed in terms of security of the public,” he said.

“The threshold of the issuance of a public declaration is determined at a high level. The decision of a public declaration can only be given when a AHPRA or a national committee creates a reasonable belief that an practitioner or person poses a serious risk for the public.

‘Today, the publication of this statement means that we can warn the public as we continue to take steps to evaluate and investigate issues that may cause a serious risk for the public.’

Peter Terzi/Taylor is asked to contact Ahpra’s Criminal Crimes Unit of Ahpra, who has suspected that he may have been treated or employed or claims to be a dentist or nurse since February 26th.
