Harry and Meghan accept offer to stay in royal residence during UK trip
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have accepted an offer to stay at the royal residence during their visit to England next month.
They are understood to be staying at the royal mansion with their seven-year-old son Archie and five-year-old daughter Lilibet.
Queen Elizabeth II They are expected to arrive from California in July for what will be the family’s first visit to the UK since Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations in 2022.
While it is not known which residence they will use during their visit, Buckingham Palace has been suggested as a place they can use on possible previous trips.
The trip will also be Harry’s first time seeing his father, King Charles, in nine months after they had tea at Clarence House in September.

The stay at the royal residence, first reported by the BBC, will signal improved relations between father and son and give the King the opportunity to see his grandchildren for the first time in four years.
The Duke of Sussex also plans to take his children to visit their grandmother Princess Diana’s grave at Althorp House in Northamptonshire for the first time.
The visit will mark the one-year countdown to Harry’s Invictus Games, which will be held in Birmingham next July, and the family will take part in celebrations in preparation for the event.
Prince Harry is in an ongoing legal battle with the Home Office over security arrangements for him and his family while in the UK after his level of protection was reduced when he stepped back from royal duties in 2020.
The couple do not have a permanent home in the UK after being asked to vacate Frogmore Cottage, a gift from Queen Elizabeth, in 2023 following the publication of Prince Harry’s damning memoir Spare.
The Duke told the BBC of his desire to “reconcile” with the Royal Family after losing a Court of Appeal appeal against the Home Office over security arrangements in the UK last year.
“At this point I’m bringing my wife and children back to the UK and I don’t see a world where there is everything they will miss,” he said.
“You know I love my country, I’ve always done that despite what some people in the country have done.”
