Asifabad Co-operative Societies Deputy Registrar in ACB Net
Hyderabad: The Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Saturday arrested Rathod Bhikku, Deputy Registrar of Cooperative Societies in Kumrambheem Asifabad district, from a rented house in Mancheriral.
He initially demanded Rs.7 lakh and after repeated demands from the complainant, he reduced the bribe to Rs.5 lakh and accepted an amount of Rs.5 lakh. 2 lakh bribe as first installment from the complainant for showing his official favor.
A bribe was requested in order to send a positive report to the committee for the reinstatement of the complainant, who was suspended on November 4, 2024, and to implement GO No. 44 regarding the fixing and invoicing of the complainant’s salaries pending since April 2023.
In addition, a bribe was requested to the complainant to pay the period allowances deducted since November 4, 2024 and not to take action regarding the investigation report carried out about the complainant.
Stating that the tainted bribe amount of Rs.2 lakh has been recovered from Bhikku’s possession, ACB officials said the arrested officer had performed his duties improperly and dishonestly to gain undue advantage.
ACB officials produced Bhikku before the special court for ACB cases in Karimnagar. The complainant’s details are being kept confidential for security reasons.
