Moldovan election body endorses poll participants ahead of independence fete
Chisinau (Reuters) -Moldova voter officials focused on measuring how well the public support of the former Soviet state of the former Soviet state of President Maia Sandu for participating in the European Union on Tuesday for the next month’s parliamentary elections.
On September 28, the Central Election Commission issued a list of 21 authorized participants at the September 28 survey on the eve of Moldova’s Independence Day celebrations and joined and approved the pro -European urge of three European leaders Sandu.
Sandu’s Action and Solidarity Party is now organizing 61 seats in 101 -member parliament. However, according to an opinion survey published last week, it is possible to win more than 41 seats in the next month’s survey.
Sandu, a violent critic of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, said that the path of Moldova to EU membership before the holiday on Monday evening was “irreversible”.
“At the end of the decade, we act determined to be a member state,” he said. “We have the chance to be the safest and most prosperous field of peace, freedom and justice.”
French President Emmanuel Macron, who was scheduled to join Sandu during Wednesday’s celebrations, was the German Chancellor Friedrich Merz and Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk.
There are two wide -supported blocks between the 21 groups recorded by the Election Commission. The patriotic block, including socialists and communists who want closer ties with Russia, is expected to win 36 seats, while the government is expected to win an alternative block 13 seats accused of hiding pro -Kremlin prejudice.
One of the alternative leaders, former prosecutor Alexandr Stoianoglo wrote on Tuesday, Telegram, when the war in neighboring Ukraine ended, the West would soon lose his interest in Moldova.
Sandu was re -elected with a 10 -point difference over Stoianoglo last year, but he had to greatly trust Moldovans votes living and working outside the country. A referendum that approved the EU membership campaign cleared 50% with a narrow difference.
Sandu warned Russia’s attempts to influence the survey, and last week, Moscow aims to make a $ 100 million funnel in the crypto currency to help pro -Russian political forces.
An open -Russian block, which was controlled by a illegal Moldova business world, was banned from participating in the survey.
