In order to suppress activist Manoj Jararange for Maratha quota in Mumbai, a 43 -year -old Azad Maidan continued the third day on Sunday, August 31, 2025 on Sunday, August 31, 2025.
Mumbai police allowed another day for Mr. Jararange’s protest on Saturday.
The traffic in and around the Azad Maidan protest was blocked on Saturday and made the maritime movement of the protesters. Some protesters were even seen while bathing on the roads.
Maratha leader, Maharashtra Prime Minister Devendra Fadnavis’i, to accelerate the process of booking the community to accelerate a committee for the retired Supreme Court Judge Sandeep Shinde’yi hit.
“It is not justice to publish a government decision (Gr) that announces that Shinde was given to Marathas (GR),” Jarangge promised to continue agitation on Saturday. He said.
Mr. Fadnavis said that the government is trying to find a solution within the constitutional and legal framework, while NCP (SP) President Sharad Pawar said that a constitutional change was required to raise the limit on the general reservation.
On Saturday, the BJP -led government appointed a delegation directed by Justice Shinde to meet with Mr. Jararange.
Mr. Jararange demands a 10% quota for Marathhas, and although the OBC leaders oppose it, he wants to be recognized as Kunbis, an agricultural intent involved in the other retrospective class category.
The activist, who started a hunger strike seven times in the past, claimed that this was the “last fight” of the community.
While the delegation met him on Saturday, Mr. Jarange said that the Committee, headed by the Justice Shinde, has been examining the newspapers on the subject for the last 13 months, and now it was time to present a report to open the way to pave the way for Marathas to take the status of Kunbi.
“Marathas should be announced as Marathhas Kunbis in Marathwada and a reservation should be given. He said.
Justice Shinde said he was not authorized to give such a report and that the backward class commission was the job. The former judge said, “The caste certificate is not given to individuals, not to the entire community.”
Later, Mr. Jararange, who spoke to journalists, hit Mr. Fadnavis. “Marathhas and Kunbis declared that the same Gr (government decision) is not the job of Justice Shinde. It is an insult to send the government, Raj Bhavan and the state here.” He said.
In his statement to journalists, Justice said that the state cabinet gave Haydarabad newspaper in principle.
“I will go back to the cabinet sub -committee [on the Maratha quota issue] Jararange with details of my discussion, “he added.
Justice Shinde is chaired by the government, which was founded by the government at the time of September 2023, to the members of the Maratha community to decide the methodology of ‘Kunbi’ caste certificates.
Speaking to journalists on Saturday, Mr. Jararange asked the government not to mislead the government that Marathas was looking for a reservation from other retroaches (OBC) quota.
“We only demand that we receive our quota rights share based on the conformity under the Kunbi category.” He said.
Before meeting with the government delegation Mr. Jararange, State Minister Radhakrishna Vikhe Patil said that the problems expressed by the Marathha leader were discussed in detail in the cabinet sub -committee and that the government was determined to solve them positively.
Meanwhile, Maratha protesters in Azad Maidan complained that there were no basic opportunities such as water and toilet. The protest site is located directly opposite the Brahhanmumbai Municipality Company (BMC).
Mr. Jararange accused Bhushan Gagrani, the Municipal Commissioner and the BMC manager of the state of not making the protesters use food and water.
