Luxury train Golden Chariot arrived in Kochi carrying ten international tourists. Tourists from the United States, Mexico and the United Kingdom embark on a six-day journey by train, starting from Bengaluru. Tourists explored Fort Kochi and Mattanchery areas on Tuesday and will leave for Alappuzha on Wednesday.
The luxuriously designed train features two restaurants, a bar, spa and gym, among others. “The daily rate is close to ₹ 1 lakh. Most of the travelers are over 60 years of age and have traveled to India only for this trip,” said Anish Jose, Golden Chariot’s tour director.
While tourists explore their destination during the day, the train travels to its next destination at night. The train, operated by IRCTC, is owned by the Karnataka government. “Travelers prefer this train journey as they can visit three states in six days. This includes food, accommodation, travel, beverages and destination tour,” he added.
