The Maga divide over Iran – podcast | Trump administration

Reporting on the US and Israel’s war against Iran gives you “whiplash”, says Andrew Roth, the Guardian’s global affairs correspondent in Washington DC.
“We’re so used to going into these kinds of wars and conflicts where there’s a huge plan for what’s going to happen six weeks from now, six months from now,” Michael tells Safi.
“I think the Iran war is unique in American history because it seems like there was very little planning, especially regarding political changes and what the political goals were for the country.
“You will wake up in the morning and see, as happened earlier this week, that Donald Trump has suddenly decided that the United States will rescind the ultimatum to blow up Iranian power plants, because all of a sudden there are secret talks going on.”
Roth analyzes the reactions of the public in the United States and officials within the Maga movement to the war. Will it be an issue that divides Trump supporters?
