Woman speared in head airlifted to hospital as NT police search for alleged attacker | Northern Territory

A woman with a spear buried in her head was taken to hospital from a distant northern region community and the police called the alleged attacker.

On Sunday, the police received a report that a 18 -year -old woman claimed that Groote Eylandt, a island in the Gulf of Carpentaria, was stabbed to her head by a man known in Angurugu on the west coast of Eylandt.

“Police and local clinical staff participated in the consciousness of the victim, who was still buried,” said the police said in a statement.

The woman was sent to Royal Darwin Hospital in a serious but stable situation.

Police applied to the public for information about the family violence, where the alleged criminal is still not present.
