Rumors about the two-time US president have reached a stage where a state government in India will name a road after him. Yes, you read that right! Read on to learn more about this.
US President Donald Trump.
Donald Trump is making a lot of news, whether in the United States or elsewhere. Rumors about the two-time US president have reached a stage where a state government in India will name a road after him. Yes that’s true! The Telangana government has decided to name the road where the US Consulate General in Hyderabad is located after the 79-year-old Republican leader. According to media reports, the luxury road in the state capital will now be called Donald Trump Boulevard.
The Telangana government will reportedly write to the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) and the US embassy in New Delhi, informing them about the renaming plan. This development comes after Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy suggested that major roads in Hyderabad be named after leading global companies and personalities. He had made a comment in this regard while addressing the annual US-India Strategic Partnership Forum meeting held in the national capital earlier this year.
The proposal is part of the state government’s initiative to position Telangana as a symbol of innovation-driven India. For example, the new Greenfield radial road connecting to the Nehru Outer Ring Road at Raviryala and the newly proposed Radial Ring Road will reportedly be named after the late industrialist Padma Shri Ratan Tata. The state government had earlier renamed the junction at Raviryala as Tata Junction. Telangana also plans to reward leading technology companies like Wipro and Microsoft in a similar manner.
