PM Modi assures more support to Telangana, asks CM Revanth to collaborate with him

Prime Minister Narendra Modi assured that the Central Government led by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will continue to extend its support to accelerated development of Telangana more strongly; The Center is of the view that the development of states forms the basis of its government’s vision of Viksit Bharat 2047, a developed India.

Mr Modi also said there was an urgent need for judicious use of oil to save foreign exchange as well as minimize disruptions in case of war.

“In democracies, governments of different parties in the United States of America are natural. The development of the states is of great importance for the comprehensive development of the country. My wish is to see Viksit Bharat 2047 come true,” the Prime Minister said. The Chief Minister was speaking after inaugurating/laying the foundation stones of a number of developmental works at an estimated expenditure of ₹ 9,400 crore in different parts of the state on Sunday, May 10, 2026.

Mr. Modi appeared relieved when he cheerfully responded to Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy’s request. The Prime Minister recalled how Gujarat had become a role model in the country’s development during Mr. Modi’s 10-year rule as Prime Minister and asked for the same assistance to be replicated in Telangana as well.

‘You better join me’

“We are ready to help Telangana to the same extent. But the State will now have to lose half of what it provides from the Centre, and you (Prime Minister) will not be able to achieve your goals. It would be better if you join me,” the Chief Minister said.

Projects started

Referring to projects such as the Zaheerabad Industrial Park (National Industrial Manufacturing Zone), the IOC terminal in Malkapur and the multiple track of the railway line between Kazipet and Vijayawada, which he inaugurated or laid the foundation stone for, Mr. Modi said these major projects are aimed at making Telangana a manufacturing hub. They envisaged infrastructure development resulting in the creation of huge employment opportunities as well as strengthening the connectivity of the state.

Zaheerabad industrial corridor

“India is currently on a reform express and we have simultaneously accelerated the development of modern infrastructure. For example, the Zaheerabad industrial corridor is part of the goals of Viksit Bharat. The corridor will be transformed into a smart city with world-class infrastructure and an advanced ICT network. All the facilities required by global investors will be created here,” he said.

Chief Minister Mitra Park in Warangal, which was inaugurated on Sunday, is expected to revolutionize the textile industry again and all Central schemes/subsidies, including the PIL scheme, will be applicable to the units set up here. Referring to improved connectivity, he said the Center has initiated connectivity development in an unprecedented manner. More than ₹2 lakh crore was being spent on the development of highways alone. Referring to the launch of four-lane work of Mahbubnagar-Gudeballur, which is a part of the Hyderabad-Goa economic corridor, he said that national highway expansion will benefit both Telangana and Karnataka.

He recalled how his government had prioritized the release of funds for infrastructure development in Telangana and said the railway budget for the once undivided Telangana, which was less than ₹ 1,000 crore, had been increased to ₹ 5,500 crore. As of now, works worth ₹ 50,000 crore were ongoing in the state and five Vande Bharat and six Amrut Bharat expresses were operating from Telangana.

The Center has launched the Malkapur terminal, which will cater to the needs of Telangana and strengthen the supply chain infrastructure there, giving equal priority to energy security. “We are working on ethanol blending and piped gas networks on an unprecedented scale as there is an urgent need for rational use of oil to save foreign exchange as well as minimize disruptions in case of war,” he said.

The Prime Minister said that the youth of Telangana have high aspirations to play their part in achieving ‘Viksit Telangana’ in line with progress towards the goals of Viksit Bharat – 2047.
