Highgrove’s website says the Highgrove Heritage Scarf was launched in October to coincide with the 11th anniversary of The Campaign for Wool. It also coincided with London Craft Week when it was launched.
According to Highgrove, the Shepherd check was originally colored from undyed wool using a color palette of black, dark brown and whites.
He adds: “Both designs have been incorporated into this modern interpretation, with the warm honey color inspired by Highgrove Gardens and the addition of the bee emblem, which has been part of the Johnstons of Elgin business since the 1930s.”
The bee is intended to represent the factory’s 1,000-strong “busy workforce”, including apprentices, artisans and innovators.
