President Donald Trump received condemnation from several celebrities following a daylight attack on the Iranian regime on Saturday; One actress mocked the ironic renaming of the War Department, while others accused Trump of failing to fulfill his campaign promise to “stop the wars.”

“‘Department of War.’ They weren’t kidding about it,” “The Gilded Age” actress Carrie Coon wrote to X.

John Cusack, Rosie O’Donnell, Mark Ruffalo, Jack White and Jane Fonda, who frequently criticized Trump, also stepped in after the United States and Israel launched offensive measures against the Islamic Republic and killed some of the country’s leaders, including Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

“Trump started a dog war to distract from Epstein and do Netanyahu’s bidding – Who has been lobbying for this for over 30 years – Isn’t that enough?” Cusack wrote on X.

He cited two quotes from Trump’s 2024 presidential campaign; In one of them, he criticized former Vice President Kamala Harris as the “candidate of endless wars” and positioned himself as the “candidate for peace.”

The other said: “I will not start wars, I will stop wars.”

“This dangerous and insane war against Iran not only violates international law, our constitution, and the War Powers Act, it also risks escalating into a mass war that will cost many lives, including U.S. service members,” Fonda said. According to ABC7 In Los Angeles.

Ruffalo, who is also frequently sympathetic to Democratic causes, published an article about Jared Kushner, one of Trump’s leading negotiators on Iran, saying, “He was sent to make sure we went to war.”

Former White Stripes frontman Jack White took to Instagram to criticize the president.

“Look, the leader of the ‘Peace Council,'” White said. “Venezuela, Greenland, Iran, Cuba, what’s the difference, right?”
