Young boy and staff member stabbed at primary school

A primary school student and a staff member, who were allegedly stabbed by another child at school, were slightly injured.
Police are continuing their investigation into non-life-threatening injuries suffered by an eight-year-old boy who was stabbed at Brentwood Park Primary School in Melbourne’s south-east on Thursday.
Victoria Police said the child and a female staff member suffered minor injuries and were treated by paramedics on the school site and did not require hospital treatment.
The alleged stabber, an 11-year-old boy, was later located and spoken to by police before being taken to hospital for evaluation.
The education department is working with Brentwood Park Primary School regarding an incident involving a young student behaving “dangerously”.
“The school has put safety procedures in place and police and paramedics have attended the school,” a spokesman said in a statement. he said.
“We support both staff and students and provide additional wellbeing supports to those who need them.”
While the investigation was ongoing, the school was able to resume normal operations shortly after the incident.
