Manchester LIVE: City centre chaos after BMW gets stuck on tracks | UK | News

Earlier today, a BMW became stuck on the Metrolink tram tracks near the New Islington tram stop in Manchester.
The incident led to tram services on the Ashton line being suspended “until further notice”.
There are currently no trams running between Piccadilly Station and Ashton-under-Lyne.
It appears that the BMW was abandoned and its occupants left the vehicle on foot.
While the outage continues, Metrolink tickets and passes are accepted on a number of Bee Network bus services.
While trams are expected to restart once the vehicle has been removed and safety checks completed, rescue arrangements are ongoing.
